Gemotions

The estate sale was a blur of faces and hushed conversations. He felt a deep sense of sadness as he perused the items his father had left behind. He was especially moved when he found the letter, tucked inside a worn book. His father had quit his job as a writer decades before.

He read the words, "the creative process has become a battle" and "the inspiration has withered away." He looked out the window, at the gray, overcast sky. The pressure on his own writing had become almost unbearable. His thoughts were a muddle. He felt a strange kinship with the man.
